analysis of an ad/poster.

The main focus is towards the attractive woman. The woman is looking straight at the camera. I would say that the shot size is an medium close up (MCU). The colour scheme is plain and simple but very affective as it makes the bright yellow tittle stand much much more than it would if the woman and the back ground was in colour instead of black and white.
Denotation - As what we can see the woman is dressed as a queen/princess and also she has a lot of jewellery on.

    www some good use of terminology and astute observation when it comes to colour and b&w. I agree.

    ebi as this is a photo of Princess Diana it might be worth commenting on this, she is pictured wearing jewelery which reinforces her royal status, but what about her smile? he pose? is she approachable? what does it say about her? how does this reflect the ideas of the magazine perhaps? what is the title of the publication? why is the title behind the photo? all these are areas worth commenting on.

    The next stage is then to look at audience.
